Sassy and I Know it!

Water, the Great Detoxifier

Water cures all. Seriously.
Water is a miracle worker. WHEN you drink it in the right amount, at the right time.
At Everyday Confidence, we strive to drink half our body weight in ounces each and every day. That means that someone weighing in at 200 pounds would strive to drink 100 ounces of water. If you weigh 150, strive for 75 ounces. (weight in pounds / 2 = ounces of water to drink)

BEWARE: If you currently drink 8 ounces of water a day and suddenly increase to 75 ounces of water in a day, not only will you be running to the restroom every 10 minutes, you will throw off your electrolytes.

That is why drinking sassy water is a GREAT way to get started on increasing your water intake. This infused water offers a delicious, refreshing way to increase your water, flush your system, help temper your electrolytes, remove toxins stored in your system and leave your tummy a little bit flatter.

Also consider increasing your water intake over several weeks. If you are drinking 8 ounces today, each week, add in 8 ounces more each week until you reach your goal. Raising your water slowly will allow your body to adjust naturally.

Sassy water is also a great option for those who do not like 'boring' water.

Recipe:

  • 8 cups of water
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
  • 1 medium cucumber (peeled, thinly sliced)
  • 1 medium lemon, thinly sliced
  • 12 small spearmint leaves

Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher and let flavors blend overnight. Drink the entire pitcher by the end of each day.

Detoxifying our bodies can be easy or harsh. I prefer the easy method as it 'does no harm.' When one takes on a harsh detox program and the body is not properly prepared, one tends to do more harm than good. So let's take it slow and give our bodies the loving support it needs to detoxify at a slow, even pace that leaves us feeling energized and rejuvenated. Not icky and exhausted.
